Designing a Secure Digital Wallet to Empower Employee Financial Transactions
I led the UX/UI design for a wallet app that helps employees manage and use virtual cards for secure online transactions. This product needed to inspire trust, protect privacy, and simplify financial actions — from checking balances to making real-time payments.
PROBLEM
The client needed a secure and intuitive digital wallet for employees to manage their payments. The challenge was to ensure financial data felt private and trustworthy while allowing users to perform transactions confidently and without friction — a key part of their daily workflow.
MY ROLE & TEAM
As the lead UX/UI designer, I was responsible for designing the entire user experience — from ideation to prototype handoff. I led research, created a reusable design system, and collaborated with front- and back-end developers to ensure accurate implementation.
DESIGN PROCESS
I analyzed leading wallet apps to identify design trends and usability patterns.
This helped validate ideas and shape the structure of the new app flow.
I created low- and high-fidelity wireframes to define the user journey.
These helped align the team and guide development decisions..
I built a modular design system in Figma using atomic design principles.
This improved consistency, scalability, and collaboration with developers.
I designed an interactive prototype to simulate key user flows.
It helped us test early and communicate the design clearly to the team.
WORK TEAM
I guided this project, and I had the support by one front end and one back end, I am the user interface and user experience responsible, I follow-up the project from initial stage until launch.
SOLUTION
A clean, focused home screen showing real-time balance and recent transactions.
Privacy toggles to hide/show sensitive financial data.
Immediate visual feedback after every transaction (success, error, confirmation).
Consistent, branded UI elements for cards, actions, and navigation.
RESULTS & IMPACT
Successfully launched MVP to 30 internal users with a 95% task success rate in usability testing.
Reduced transaction confusion and improved confidence through real-time feedback design.
Positive stakeholder feedback on visual design, clarity, and security features.
REFLECTIONS
Designing a financial product taught me the importance of clarity, feedback, and communication — both with users and with my development team. I learned to listen actively, present my design decisions with user data, and adapt quickly to feedback without compromising usability. It reinforced my belief that good design earns user trust through transparency, not just visual polish.
FINAL DESIGN
This is the high-fidelity design delivered for the app’s first release. We successfully launched it with a team of 30 employees, enabling them to manage virtual payments securely and intuitively.
